Ariel Brínguez (Santa Clara, Cuba, 1982) is a Cuban sax player, composer and arranger based in Spain. His music connects Afro-Cuban traditions with contemporary jazz, combining a distinctive voice with a strong focus on melody and improvisation.

Throughout his career, he has collaborated with artists such as Chucho Valdés, David Murray, Omara Portuondo, Paquito D’Rivera, Miguel Zenón and Marcus Miller. He has also contributed to three Grammy-winning albums: Tributo a Irakere by Chucho Valdés, El tren de los momentos by Alejandro Sanz, and Voyager by Iván Melon Lewis.

Leading his quintet, he has performed at festivals such as Jazzaldia, the Vitoria-Gasteiz Jazz Festival and Voll-Damm Barcelona Jazz Festival, as well as presenting his music at international venues in Germany, Austria, Romania and Bulgaria.

His projects include Latidos, Nostalgia Cubana and Alma en Cuba, an album recorded with pianist Iván Melon Lewis and nominated for the 2025 Latin Grammy for Best Instrumental Album. In Jazz About Bach, Brínguez creates a dialogue between the music of Johann Sebastian Bach and contemporary jazz, reinterpreting Baroque music through improvisation and a perspective shaped by his Cuban roots.
