Reinier Elizarde, artistically known as “El Negrón,” is an acclaimed Cuban double bassist, composer, and producer based in Spain. Trained in the tradition of the Russian classical school and deeply influenced by Cuban popular rhythms, he has established himself as one of the most sought-after bassists on the international Latin jazz scene.
Among his distinctions is a Latin Grammy as a performer in 2021, along with several additional nominations that further affirm his prestige and artistic projection.
Condao, his first album as a bandleader, merges his Afro-Cuban roots with contemporary jazz and rock. The project also represents an intimate exploration of his creative universe through original compositions, presented at renowned festivals such as Dum Dum Jazz and Jazz en el Palacio.
