Since its inauguration in 1982, Café Central has been one of the leading jazz clubs in Madrid, in Spain, and in Europe. Now, through this Short Story Contest initiative, it opens another facet: bringing together in a book the winning stories of its own competition, thus joining that rich and fruitful cultural embrace between jazz and literature that has endured over time.
It offers a diversity of fictional works in which jazz in general, and Café Central in particular, play a central role, within an anthology enriched by photographs that lend vitality and personality to the book, providing valuable visual testimonies to the history and idiosyncrasy of the venue.
